🔑 Arrival Information
Getting In (Smart Lock)
The house uses a smart lock. Your personal access code is sent before arrival — please confirm you’ve received it before you travel. That same code locks the door behind you when you leave.
If your code isn’t working when you arrive, text or call us right away (see Contact Us above) and we’ll get you in.
Check-in Time & Early Check-in
Check-in is 4:00 PM. If you’re arriving earlier, check the Local Area guide below for things to do while you wait.
We can’t confirm early check-in until closer to your stay, once we know if there’s a same-day turnover. If there’s no same-day turn, we’re often happy to let guests in early on request. Earlier than that may carry an early check-in fee.
Finding the House
Look for the white picket fence along Greenville Highway — that’s your landmark. The front sidewalk is a historic flagstone path (about 100 years old); the stones are a little uneven in spots, so please watch your step, especially at night or if anyone in your group has mobility concerns.
🏡 About the House
Bedroom Configuration
4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, sleeps 14.
- One bedroom is a bunk room — please note the 150 lb weight limit on the top bunk.
- Baby gear (pack-n-play, etc.) is stored in the bunk room closet if you need it.
- Extra dining chairs are stored in the front bedroom closet if you need more seating.
- Need a bigger table? The kitchen table has an extra leaf stored inside it to expand seating.
Hidden Kitchen Drawers
Please note the recessed/hidden drawers located inside some of the larger kitchen drawers — they maximize storage but many guests miss them and think we’re short on utensils! Check inside the drawers for extra items.
Laundry
Feel free to use the washer and dryer in the house, free for all guests. We recommend using the quick-wash cycle when possible and cleaning out the lint trap after drying.
Nest Thermostat
The Nest Thermostat is a smart WiFi thermostat — simply rotate the dial to reach your desired temperature.
Heat / AC Mini-Splits
Select the mode you need on the remote — Sunshine icon = Heat, Snowflake icon = AC. All the mini-splits in the house must be set to the same mode. If a unit shows an “E7” error, it means one of the mini-splits is on a different mode than the others — switch it to match and the error will clear.
All remotes are interchangeable between units.
Ice Maker
If the ice maker isn’t producing ice, it may just need to be reset or thawed. There’s a digital switch on the right side of the fridge (near a shelf) to check the temperature/power, and the ice bin can be unhinged and popped up if you need to check for freezing.
Hot Water (Tankless Water Heater)
The house has a tankless water heater, which means essentially endless hot water once it warms up. If you turn on a faucet and get cold water at first, give it about 5 minutes to heat up before assuming there’s an issue.
In very cold weather: if you notice reduced water flow, let a faucet drip slightly and open the cabinet under the kitchen sink to let warm air circulate around the pipes.
Porch & Stairway Lights
The front porch light is on a dusk-to-dawn sensor — please leave its covered switch in the “on” position so it comes on automatically at night.
The laundry room also has a covered switch for the motion-sensor light at the back stairs — please leave this on too, so it keeps triggering for anyone heading up after dark.
Trash
Trash pickup is Friday morning, early. You don’t need to do anything special — just make sure the animal-deterrent strap on the outdoor trash cans stays secured.
Fireplace
The indoor fireplace is decorative only (non-working). Enjoy the outdoor firepit instead — see the Trails & Outdoor Access section below.

Outdoor Firepit & Extras
Enjoy the outdoor firepit (Solo Stove) and the outdoor swings. S’more sticks are in the laundry room drawers if you’d like to roast marshmallows.
Seasonally, sleds and a red wagon are stored in the basement bay window — help yourself if the weather cooperates.
There’s also a grill on site — if you use it, please give it a quick clean before you check out.
Historic Flagstone Walkway & Picket Fence
The front sidewalk is a flagstone path that’s roughly 100 years old — charming, but the stones can be uneven, so watch your step. The white picket fence out front is a handy landmark when you’re navigating in.
📋 House Rules & Safety
The Basics
- Minimum age to book is 25
- Maximum occupancy is 14 guests overnight (including kids)
- Smoking, vaping, and e-cigarettes are not allowed
- Quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 9:00 AM — please keep noise down for the neighbors
Celebrations & Decorating
This home is happy to host bachelor/bachelorette parties and birthday celebrations (bachelorette groups 21+ may be an exception to the standard 25+ minimum). Weddings, bridal/baby showers, and family-reunion-style private events are not typically hosted here.
If you’d like to decorate, please use blue painter’s tape only, and remove it gently at the end of your stay.
Daytime Visitors
Having friends or family over for meals during the day is fine — just be mindful not to take up neighbors’ parking, and please have visiting family help haul out any extra trash from gatherings so the cans don’t overflow.
Pets
This home is generally not pet-friendly during peak summer season (June–August) due to deep-cleaning turnaround time. Off-season, exceptions may be considered with homeowner approval (breed/size/age dependent, with an added pet fee).
Service animals are always welcome, with no pet fee, provided they follow standard waste/furniture/flea-and-tick guidelines.
Cancellations
Standard reservation-specific cancellation terms apply as shown at the time of booking. If we’re able to rebook your cancelled dates, we’ll refund your stay in full regardless of the stated policy.
Breakages & Accidents
Accidents happen! If something breaks or spills, just let us know as soon as possible so we can take care of it before the next guests arrive. Thanks for your honesty.
In Case of Fire
- Exit the property immediately
- Make sure everyone in your group is accounted for
- Call 911
- Do not re-enter until a fire officer says it’s safe
