🔑 Arrival Information
Getting In (Smart Lock)
The house uses a smart lock for self check-in, any time after 4:00 PM unless early check-in has been approved. Your personal access code is sent ahead of arrival — please confirm you’ve received it before you travel.
If your code isn’t working when you arrive, text or call us right away (see Contact Us above) and we’ll get you in.
Check-in Time & Early Check-in
Check-in is 4:00 PM. If you’re arriving earlier, check the Local Area guide below for things to do while you wait.
We can’t confirm early check-in until closer to your stay, once we know if there’s a same-day turnover. If there’s no same-day turn, we’re often happy to let guests in early on request. Earlier than that may carry an early check-in fee.
Cell Signal Tip
Cell service can be weak at the house. Turn on WiFi Calling on your phone before you arrive so calls and texts work over our WiFi.

Bedroom Configuration
- Bedroom 1 — Queen bed
- Bedroom 2 — Queen bed
- Bedroom 3 (bunk room) — twin-over-twin bunk bed and twin-over-full bunk bed
3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms — both are walk-in showers. Sleeps approximately 8–10.
Laundry
Washer/dryer are free to use for all guests.
📶 WiFi / Internet
House Network
Network: My Carolina Stay
Password: no password needed
Trouble connecting? Go to Settings → your network → scroll down → set DNS and Proxy to “Automatic.” This often helps with tablets especially. If WiFi is acting up, the modem is located under the TV — unplug it and wait 10 seconds before plugging back in. Please don’t press the small reset button on the modem, as it will clear all network settings.
🏖️ Beach Access & Outdoor
Direct Beach Access
Salt Life has its own private rope walkway to the beach, located immediately beside the house — step right off the property and onto the sand. This is a real perk: Oak Island now bans new private beach walkways for dune restoration reasons, so some nearby homes have to walk several houses down to reach a public access point. You’ve got it right outside your door.
📋 House Rules & Safety
The Basics
- No events or parties
- No smoking/vaping/e-cigarettes indoors or on the wood decks — please dispose of responsibly in outside trash cans if smoking outdoors
- Quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM — please be respectful of noise at all hours
- No visitors who aren’t staying at the home unless pre-approved
- Pets are generally not allowed; exceptions are sometimes possible off-season with prior approval — please ask before bringing a pet
Breakages & Accidents
Accidents happen! If something breaks or spills, just let us know as soon as possible so we can take care of it before the next guests arrive. Thanks for your honesty.
In Case of Fire
- Exit the property immediately
- Make sure everyone in your group is accounted for
- Call 911
- Do not re-enter until a fire officer says it’s safe

Before You Go
- Leave the beds unmade (no need to strip them!)
- Place used towels on the bathroom floor
- Clean out the fridge
- Start the dishwasher if you’re able, and take out any trash (large items to the outside cans for pickup)
- Double check closets and drawers for forgotten items
- Turn off lights
- Lock the front door and make sure all doors and windows are closed and locked
