The cottage uses a Schlage smart lock. Your personal access code is sent about 3 days before arrival — please confirm you’ve received it before you travel.

If your code isn’t working, first double-check you’re at the correct house (see note above). If it still doesn’t work, text or call us right away (see Contact Us above) and we’ll get you in. There’s a backup code and a last-resort lockbox on the gas meter as well, in case the primary code has trouble — we’ll walk you through it if needed.

Check-in is 4:00 PM — self check-in any time after that unless early check-in has been approved.

If there’s no same-day turnover, early check-in may be available for a fee: 3:00 PM free, 2:00 PM $20, 1:00 PM $30, 12:00 PM $40. Early check-in isn’t guaranteed on same-day turns, so please ask in advance rather than assuming.

2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Sleeps 5 in beds — 4 adults is the most comfortable fit, or 5 total including kids. If booking 5 adults, please note the 2nd bedroom is a double + lofted twin, not two normal beds.

Look closely — there are drawers concealed inside some of the larger kitchen drawers. Many guests miss them and think we’re short on utensils or cooking items! Check inside the drawers for extra storage.

The cottage is heated and cooled by mini-split units, and remotes are interchangeable between units. If a unit shows an “E7” error, it means the units are set to mismatched modes — make sure all units are on the same mode: sunshine icon = heat, snowflake icon = AC. The “raindrop” setting is dehumidify only (no heat or AC).

Electric panel: Located outside on the right side of the house.

Septic system: The house is on septic — please use septic-safe toilet paper only, and don’t flush anything else. Heavy rain combined with high water usage (showers, laundry) can occasionally make toilets sluggish; if this happens, please reduce water use and let us know.

Trash: No need to worry about the trash cans — they’re rolled out and returned for you ahead of the weekly pickup. Pickup is Thursday mornings.

The TV uses Roku guest mode — simply enter your stay dates when prompted. Streaming app passcodes automatically clear at the end of your checkout. If the TV isn’t working, try unplugging it and reconnecting to WiFi. The Roku mobile app also works as a backup remote.

A pack-n-play with mattress insert is provided, along with sheets. Since sheets can occasionally be misplaced by previous guests, we recommend bringing your own as a backup just in case.

The long gravel driveway comfortably fits 3+ cars without anyone being blocked in. The cottage shares this driveway with the front-house listing (a separate rental) — please be considerate and don’t block the shared drive.

Accidents happen! If something breaks or spills, please let us know as soon as possible so we can take care of it before the next guests arrive. Replacement or cleaning costs may apply for damages, but we always appreciate your honesty.
