🔑 Arrival Information
Getting In (Smart Lock)
The house uses a smart lock. Your personal access code is sent about 3 days before arrival — please confirm you’ve received it before you travel. That same code locks the door behind you when you leave.
If your code isn’t working when you arrive, text or call us right away (see Contact Us above) and we’ll get you in.
Check-in Time & Early Check-in
Check-in is 4:00 PM. If you’re arriving earlier, check the Local Area guide below for things to do while you wait.
We can’t confirm early check-in until about 48 hours before your stay, once we know if there’s a same-day turnover. If there’s no same-day turn, we’re often happy to let guests in 1–2 hours early on request. Earlier than that may carry an early check-in fee.
Cell Signal Tip
Cell service is weak at the house. Turn on WiFi Calling on your phone before you arrive so calls and texts work over our WiFi.

- King bedroom (downstairs) — ensuite shower bath

- Lake Cottage — a separate cottage house with its own queen bed, kitchen, and ensuite bathroom
6 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, sleeps 14.
Hidden Kitchen Drawers
Look closely — there are recessed drawers built inside some of the larger kitchen drawers. Many guests miss them and think we’re short on utensils! Check inside the drawers for extra storage.
Heating & Cooling
Thermostats are in the main hallway. Please don’t leave doors or windows open while running heat or AC, and avoid setting AC below 68° so the unit doesn’t overwork and freeze.
Lake Cottage: has its own mini-split system (bathroom + main room). The control in the main room runs both units — make sure both are set to the same mode (either AC or Heat) or it won’t work correctly.
Laundry & Coffee
Laundry: Washer/dryer are free to use for all guests. We recommend the quick-wash cycle and cleaning the lint trap after drying.
Coffee: A Keurig single-pod brewer and an 8–12 cup drip coffee maker are both available.
Fireplace
The indoor fireplace is decorative only (non-working). Enjoy the outdoor firepit with our Solo Stove instead!

🚤 Lake, Dock & Outdoor Gear
The Dock
Private deep-water dock on the main channel of Lake Wylie, stocked with inflatable stand-up paddle boards and a sit-on-top kayak.
Lake Toys & Boat Rentals
Please tie up kayaks/paddle boards when not in use — wind can easily blow them off the dock. When you’re done, store them fin-side-up on the wood so fins don’t bend.
Want to get out on a boat or jet ski? We recommend Lake Wylie Boat Rentals. There are also several other marinas nearby worth checking with — some will even bring the boat right to our dock for you. Just let them know you’re our guest!
Outdoor Kitchen & Lounging
Outdoor propane grill and a Blackstone griddle, plus a sun lounging area and a lake trampoline. If you use the grill, please give it a quick clean before you leave.
📋 House Rules & Safety
The Basics
- Maximum occupancy is 14 guests (including kids)
- No events without prior permission
- Smoking/vaping/e-cigarettes: outside only
- Quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 9:00 AM — please keep noise down for the neighbors
Breakages & Accidents
Accidents happen! If something breaks or spills, just let us know as soon as possible so we can take care of it before the next guests arrive. Thanks for your honesty.
In Case of Fire
- Exit the property immediately
- Make sure everyone in your group is accounted for
- Call 911
- Do not re-enter until a fire officer says it’s safe

🧳 Check-out — By 10:00 AM
Before You Go
- Leave the beds unmade (no need to strip them!)
- Place used towels on the bathroom floor
- Start the dishwasher if you’re able, and take out any trash (pickup is Wednesday evenings)
- Double check closets and drawers for forgotten items
- Lock the front door and make sure all sliding doors are closed and locked
- Secure outside trash cans if you’ve added trash recently (keeps animals out)
- If you used the grill, give it a quick clean
- Secure/tie down water toys, return life jackets to the line and paddles to the storage hooks
