🔑 Arrival Information
Getting In (Smart Lock)
The house uses a smart lock — your personal access code is sent before arrival. That same code locks the door behind you when you leave.
If you have any trouble getting in, text or call us right away (see Contact Us above) and we’ll get you in.
Check-in Time & Early Check-in
Check-in is 4:00 PM. If you’re arriving earlier, check the Local Area guide below for things to do while you wait — you’re only about 20 minutes from the airport and roughly 22 minutes from Uptown Charlotte, so there’s plenty nearby.
We can’t confirm early check-in until closer to your stay, once we know if there’s a same-day turnover. If there’s no same-day turn, we’re often happy to let guests in a bit early on request.
Getting Here
Brookwood Bungalow sits off Highway 321 on a quiet side street close to downtown Gastonia, in the historic Brookwood district.

- Guest bedroom 2 — Queen bed
- Guest bedroom 3 — Queen bed
- Hall bathroom (shower/tub combo) — shared by bedrooms 2 & 3
3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 6.
Hot Water & Laundry
This home has a standard electric tank water heater (located in the crawlspace), not a tankless system — it’s possible to run out of hot water if several showers are run back-to-back. We recommend spacing out showers a bit, and running the dishwasher or laundry on a cold cycle if hot water is running low.
Washer and dryer are on-site for guest use.
Kitchen & Climate Control
Full kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Central climate control (gas/electric) throughout the home, plus a smart TV.
Trash & Yard Care
Trash is picked up on Thursday mornings — our team handles rolling the cans down and back up, so there’s nothing extra you need to do there.
Yard care happens periodically and typically starts after 10:00 AM, taking about 20–30 minutes. If you hear a mower during your stay, that’s why!
Good to Have on Hand
A pack ‘n play travel crib is available for little ones, and a first aid kit and fire extinguisher are on-site.

Modem is located under the foyer table in the den. If WiFi is acting up, unplug it and wait about 10 seconds before plugging back in — please don’t press the reset button, as that will clear the network name and password.
🌿 Yard & Patio
Enjoy the small back patio, set up with a table and chairs — a nice spot for morning coffee. The private yard is maintained periodically by our landscaper (see the Yard Care note in House Info above).
You’ll also have a private entrance and free on-site parking for your stay.
📋 House Rules & Safety
The Basics
- Maximum occupancy is 6 guests (children welcome)
- No events or parties
- Smoking/vaping/e-cigarettes: outside only — not permitted indoors
- No pets
- Minimum age to book is 25
- Quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM — please keep noise down for the neighbors
- The booking guest is responsible for making sure everyone in their group knows these house rules
Breakages & Accidents
Accidents happen! If something breaks or spills, just let us know as soon as possible so we can take care of it before the next guests arrive. Thanks for your honesty.
In Case of Fire
- Exit the property immediately
- Make sure everyone in your group is accounted for
- Call 911
- Do not re-enter until a fire officer says it’s safe
A first aid kit and fire extinguisher are on-site.

Before You Go
- Leave the beds unmade (no need to strip them!)
- Gather used towels into the bathrooms
- Turn off all lights
- Start the dishwasher if you’re able, and take out any trash
- Double check closets and drawers for forgotten items
- Lock all doors when leaving
